ADRA Slovakia packing humanitarian help for Ukraine at the summer festival “Pohoda”
ADRA Slovakia was an official partner of the biggest summer festival “Pohoda” in Slovakia, held June 7-9. Participants of the festival can pack humanitarian aid packages themselves and add their personal messages for the recipients in Ukraine.
ADRA Slovakia used the opportunity to do something useful together with thousands of people at the Pohoda festival in Trenčín, Slovakia. In their large-capacity tent, together with ADRA Slovakia’s volunteers, people could prepare humanitarian aid packages consisting of non-perishable food and hygiene items. They could also attach a short personal message for aid recipients. Aid packages will be sent to Ukraine.
More than 13,000 families have already received such aid packages in the cities of Irpin, Bucha, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Černovci, Vinnytsia, Boroďanka, and others.
Currently, ADRA Slovakia sends a filled truck (20 tones, 1320 bales on 33 pallets) of aid to Ukraine every week, where ADRA Ukraine distributes them to the refugees who had to leave their homes, but also to people in war-torn areas.
Volunteer Alex from Ukraine has been working with ADRA Slovakia since the beginning of this crisis: “At Pohoda, we wanted to tell every visitor how important it is to help people in Ukraine. Unfortunately, the war is not over yet and people’s situation is getting worse. In our ADRA tent, Pohoda participants could pack aid packages, and we will deliver them to Ukrainian families suffering from the consequences of the war.”
