ADRA Romania’s 50th humanitarian convoy to Ukraine

After 24 hours, ADRA Romania’s 50th humanitarian convoy to Ukraine returned home safely at the beginning of November. ADRA transported collected donations to ADRA Ukraine in Kyiv and the Southern Conference Seventh-day Adventist Church of Ukraine based in Odesa.

“The administration of the Southern Ukraine Conference expresses its deep gratitude to ADRA Romania for its support and humanitarian aid. We appreciate your participation in our needs, and thank you. Your concern for the people of our land warms our hearts and gives us hope. Many people who have received help, with tears in their eyes, send you words of gratitude. May the Lord bless your noble work and give you success in every humanitarian action!” said Dimitri Popravkin, President of the Southern Ukraine Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Six vans were full of donated products. People in need received food, hygiene products, clothing and footwear for children and adults, books, bed linen and blankets. According to local authorities, there are approximately 60,000 Ukrainian refugees in the Ismail region, and any help directed to the Odesa region is welcome and needed.

“I was happy to discover the empathy and spirit of sacrifice of the Adventist believers in the Muntenia and Dobrogea region again. I appreciated the selflessness of my colleagues on the Conference Committee, and I was happy about the inter-institutional collaboration that made this project possible. I want us to multiply and perpetuate this type of manifestation of our creed, a practical demonstration of the correct positioning towards God and our fellow men: With our eyes to heaven, with our feet on the ground!” concludes Robert Mandache, president of the Adventist Church of the Day of Seventh – Muntenia Conference.
