Young volunteers from Switzerland made a long journey from Switzerland to Ukraine to hand over two much-needed vans which will be used to transport hygiene kits and water as well as leisure, children and youth kits to the transition centres for internally displaced persons.
Six young men made themselves available to ADRA Switzerland as volunteers to transfer the two minibuses from Switzerland to Ukraine together with an escort vehicle. After almost two days of driving and the proper introduction at the Ukrainian customs, the two vehicles were handed over to the employees of ADRA Ukraine.
The gratitude of the ADRA employees in Ukraine was noticeable when the vehicles were handed over, as all six drivers unanimously confirm: “ADRA Ukraine is happy that they received these vehicles from Switzerland. And for us, this vehicle transfer was an opportunity to help the people in Ukraine directly and to make a small contribution to something good. That’s why we all spontaneously agreed to support ADRA Switzerland in this project.”
The vans were delivered as part of a humanitarian aid project of UNICEF in which ADRA Switzerland is significantly involved and which is being implemented in cooperation with ADRA Ukraine.
