Bread of life: Food assistance for Ukrainians

Food assistance is one of the large-scale areas of ADRA Ukraine’s activities. Since April, the ADRA Ukraine team has been distributing aid with food packages, bread, and food certificates.

ADRA Ukraine cooperates with the UN World Food Program in distributing food assistance in eight regions of Ukraine for more than five months.

The distribution of food kits for various purposes continues to be conducted in eight regions: Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Lugansk, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. 

At the moment, the distribution of fresh bread extends to five regions: Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odessa and Zaporizhzhia.

The numbers of the project are impressive and scary at the same time. Since the start of the project, ADRA Ukraine delivered aid in 12 regions of Ukraine. More than one million packages of food and about 10,2 million loaves of bread were distributed. Food certificates of total value of almost 2 million euros were given to the affected people in Ukraine.
