Children in Poltava overcoming their fears

Children in Poltava overcoming their fears

Children of internally displaced persons learned to overcome their fears at the ADRA Ukraine‘s psychological training in Poltava, Ukraine.

The main goal of the training was to correct the anxiety and fear in children who, together with their families, are currently in a shelter for forcibly displaced persons in the city.

The participants were given specific tasks taking into account their age capabilities. Children under five years old moulded plasticine into something that protects their sleep. Children aged 8 to 13 received instructions on making a favourite object from fairy tales or a character that has extraordinary abilities and can protect.

By interacting with a psychologist, who asked them additional questions, children talked about their products and learned to create a sense of safety and security.
