Cooperation between ADRA Ukraine and WFP brings bread to the table

Residents of the Chernihiv region have received more than 14,000 food kits and 816,000 loaves of fresh bread within the project of ADRA Ukraine and the World Food Program.

The project of emergency food assistance to the affected population of Ukraine has been implemented since April 2022 and currently covers 11 regions of the country. Since the first days of the project, humanitarian cargoes have begun to be delivered to Chernihiv and directly to the Chernihiv region.

This assistance is provided to vulnerable categories of the population who have suffered as a result of the war, including elderly people, families with children and large families, people with disabilities, and others. Food kits and bread are also delivered to the most remote settlements where assistance is seldom brought.

As of today, food assistance in Chernihiv region is realized through the distribution of:

– essential kits (more than 3,000 distributed);

– fresh bread (over 816,000 loaves of bread distributed);

– general food assistance kits (over 14,500 distributed);

– baby food for children from 6 to 23 months (distribution began in June, but more than 224 pieces have already been distributed).
