Help finally reached the city of Izium
ADRA Slovakia provided humanitarian aid for the city of Izium, where the inhabitants lost access to basic needs such as food, electricity and water.
“ADRA was the first organization that, accompanied by the police, gained entry into the city with an aid transport,” explains Stanislav Bielik, ADRA Slovakia’s Country Director.
ADRA Slovakia prepared and transported humanitarian aid packages containing durable food and hygiene items to 1,320 residents of the devastated city of Izium in the Kharkiv region in the middle of September.
It is an invaluable help, as the heavy bombing destroyed infrastructure and cut off the city’s inhabitants from the basic needs – food, electricity, and water.
Izium is the first of many unreached cities in eastern Ukraine to which ADRA Slovakia’s partner ADRA Ukraine managed to transfer aid.
