Only ruins remained from the ADRA office in Mariupol
ADRA office in Maruupol in Ukraine was bombarded. ADRA’s Ukrainian colleagues Mykyta and Roman managed to evacuate to the west of Ukraine in time. They would like to return, but they have nowhere to go. The office is in ruins, as are their homes.
Mykyta and Roman and their families found temporary refuge in the middle of the forest, near the town of Mukachevo in the Transcarpathian region. Together with them, another 150 resettled people live here.
Roman describes his current situation: “We prefer not to deal with personal losses and our own future now. We prefer to fully concentrate on the coordination and distribution of humanitarian aid.”
The ADRA van has also seen a better day. It became overgrown in the middle of a mined field, from where no one would be able to pull it out.
