Spending summer vacations together
Finnish Adventist Church organized a camp for Ukrainian families with children at the Kallioniemi camp centre in Laukaa, Finland. ADRA Finland sponsored the camp fees of the participating Ukrainians. A trace of love was left in the hearts of the campers.
50 children and adults of different ages participated enjoyed the beautiful nature, delicious food and the company of others. The camp’s daily programme included joint gathering, activities both in the lake and on land, exercise, baking, evening programs with plays and competitions, and of course saunas and swimming in the clean, fresh Lake Peurunkajärvi.
“A year ago, none of us could imagine being here! The war changed our lives and now we are here. We don’t just want to thank the organizers of this camp, who did so much good for us, but we want to thank all Finns for welcoming us. We are thankful that we found refuge here. Surely, over time, we all try to do all the good in this country as a thank you for the hospitality and care. Thank you for everything you have done! You have brought joy to our lives, that we forget the bad things that happened to us and we can continue our lives,” said one of the participants.
