In Southern Transylvania, recent torrential rains have caused severe flooding, leading to the closure of several roads and the isolation of entire communities. Local authorities, together with ADRA’s assessment team, report that a total of 705 people have been evacuated from the communes of Băcel and Boroșneu Mare in Covasna County due to the imminent danger posed by the rapidly rising water levels. In these communities, the situation remains critical, with numerous households destroyed and families unable to safely return to their homes.
ADRA Romania has decided to respond through the project “Hope Beyond the Waters – Covasna 2025” to support affected families. The ADRA team has assessed the most urgent needs on the ground and is working in partnership with local authorities to provide emergency humanitarian assistance, in accordance with the principles of solidarity and compassion for those in need. ADRA Romania is calling for solidarity and encourages everyone who can help to join this humanitarian effort, to offer hope and support to those who have lost their possessions due to this natural disaster.
You can help too!
