The tough road to the basic infrastructure

ADRA Ukraine managed to connect residents of one of the communities in the Donetsk region to basic infrastructure. Visiting a doctor, shopping or going to the administrative facilities will be more accessible with the social transportation ADRA provides.

With the start of the hostilities in February 2022, immediately, 11 settlements of the Territorial Community of Cherkaske settlement were without public transport. More than 6,000 residents lost access to basic infrastructure – medical and administrative facilities, shops, and similar, located in other communities.

ADRA Ukraine responded to the request of the head of the territorial community and provided social transportation for its residents in several directions within the region.

Social trips are essential for residents of those regions where there is no way to solve urgent issues due to the destruction of infrastructure. The transportation options for people also need to be improved.

Assistance is provided within the framework of the Lifesaving Evacuation, Assistance and Protection project with the support of the Canadian government.

In addition to social transportation, this large-scale project includes financial assistance, evacuation (including people with reduced mobility) and psychological support.
