Kyiv receives two fire engines

Mayor Vitali Klitschko received two fire engines from ADRA Germany on behalf of the local fire brigade of the city of Kyiv end of July. The fire-fighting vehicles are part of the Ukraine emergency aid, which ADRA has been implementing with Aktion Deutschland Hilft since the beginning of the war.

The fire engines are equipped with special extinguishing foam devices that are used to fight fires in fire classes A (solids) and B (liquids or substances that become liquid).

“In Kyiv, civilian infrastructure is under attack. This leads, among other things, to fires in fuel storage facilities and highly flammable chemicals. To extinguish these fires, the Kyiv fire brigade needs special fire engines equipped with extinguishing foam. We were able to get two vehicles in Poland and sent them to Kyiv.” says Christian Molke, director of ADRA Germany.
The fire engines will save lives. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko thanks ADRA: “Thank you very much for your help and the modern fire engines. Your support is important for our safety. Hopefully, the war’s end will soon be reached.”
